I have seen many people, including myself, hide behind "honesty" to tear somebody down. Think about how many times you have heard a person say something rude and then follow with, "I'm just being real." Yes, you are being real, real unkind, real negative, and a really bad friend. We are called to hold those around us to a certain standard, but you can be truthful to someone without belittling them. A lot more positive change happens with affirmation, not condemnation. Honesty is about much more than being blunt honesty is about helping each other grow with truth and love. My goal is to answer your questions about theology and spiritual growth as honestly as I can. We are all still growing and learning, and we can do so together by building each other up.

Proverbs 24:26 says, "An honest answer is like a kiss of friendship." Another versions says, "An honest answer is a sign of true friendship."
So let's be friends!
