Careless; Adjective: not concerned or worried, not troubled.

Confession is scary.
Confession is empowering.
Confession is gut-wrenching.
Confession is healing.
Confession is heavy.
Confession is where freedom lives.
If you're like me, then you don’t like to admit when you’re wrong.
If you’re like me, then you may let the performance get in the way.
If you’re like me, you may find it difficult to confess your sins in prayer, let alone out loud.
But the other day, I was challenged to confess my sins to God and others.
And I was reminded of John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Stop pretending you are okay when you’re not,
Be careless enough to admit you need help.
Stop putting on a show when you are broken,
Be careless enough, to be honest about what you need.
Stop keeping your sin a secret,
Be careless enough to confess it.
Stop holding on to your shame and guilt so tightly.
Be careless enough to find the grace of Jesus.
Stop obsessing over what others think of you,
Be careless enough not to care.
Stop thinking you need to act, talk, or appear a certain way,
Be careless enough to live out the unique soul God gave you.
Stop living within walls you were meant to knock down,
Be careless enough to change poor traditions.
Stop living in the comfortable past,
Be careless enough to make changes for a better future.
Stop thinking you have to plan your entire life out,
Be careless enough to let God move in new ways.
Stop relying on endless self-help advice.
Be careless enough to cling to a God some say doesn’t exist.
Stop believing God is as nervous as we are,
Be bold enough to be careless in the Spirit of God.
A Spirit that is everything we need and more.
Isaiah 11:2 says,
“The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”
Notice the terms “rigid,” “uptight,” “strict,” “mean,” “shameful,” and “passive” are not terms that describe the Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God is what gives you the strength to overcome your sins and struggles. Sins that we cannot be made free from until we confess them to the one who created us. I challenge you today to be careless in your confession, careless of what others will think when you tell them the darkest parts of you. If those people truly have the Spirit of God in them, they will meet you with a careless, intentional, bold, and reliable love.
Isaiah 44:3-4
‘For I will pour out water on the thirsty land
And streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring
And My blessing on your descendants;
And they will spring up among the grass
Like poplars by streams of water.’
